Counselling and Psychotherapy


I am an accredited Counsellor & Psycotherapist and member of the Irish Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy (IACP) having completed a three year degree at the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP). I work with adults, children, teenagers and couples. I work from a humanistic and existential perspective and integrate therapies to help my clients to gain useful insights to on going situations in their lives that is causing them pain and upset. Such practices may include the use of Person Centred Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality Therapy and Art Psychotherapy.

In July 2020 I completed a four year degree in Art Psychotherapy.  I use art (where appropriate) in my counselling sessions.  This helps to enhance the emotional well being of the client especially if they are having difficulty in expressing themselves verbally. The use of art can also help reduce stress and support a person who is feeling depressed.  It can help the client to look at past trauma and help them slowly and gently express their feelings through art. No experience of art is needed.  Just a willingness to try it, even if this is drawing a line on a page.

What is counselling & psychotherapy?

Counselling & Psychotherapy aims to help you live in a manner that respects your values, needs, and self-determination.  It provides you with a non-judgmental space to explore all aspects of your life that may be causing you upset, inner conflict or emotional turmoil.  It encourages you to self-reflect, take control of your life and become self-empowered which in turn helps you to make positive changes in your life.  This work is done in a confidential, sensitive and gentle manner and in total collaboration with you, the client.    The number of sessions required will depend on the individual person and the issue involved.  Counselling sessions will take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis depending on the needs of the client.


How much does a session cost and how long is a session?

  • Each session lasts 60 minutes
  • Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy €70
  • Couples Counselling €90
  • Children & Teenagers €70
  • Low income/unemployed – sliding scale –
    Please note due to demand for appointments I have a cancellation fee of €30 for less than 24 hours notice.

My ideal weekend is spent with a cup of coffee and a good book. (1)
